A 282kg Bluefin Tuna has set a new PORT RECORD in Brixham! 🎣🎉

Landed over the weekend by the vessel Mizpah, this incredible fish was caught using rod and line and is the biggest ever line-caught tuna to be landed in Brixham (so far!).

This morning, the fish was sold to Flying Fish Seafoods through our online auction, whose customers include many Michelin-starred restaurants around the country.

An exceptional catch and a new piece of Brixham fishing history 🙌

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 ⤵️

🐟 120 tonnes of bluefin tuna quota is available for the UK commercial fishery in 2026.

🐟 30 vessels have been authorised to catch bluefin tuna, with an individual allocation of 4 tonnes each.

🐟 Authorised vessels must be 12 metres or under and use rod and reel gear only.

🐟 The 2026 commercial fishery runs from 13 July to 31 December 2026.
