Not posted for a while, so another string to my bow under the title of Let Matt Fix It. I was asked if I could repair a family heirloom. This was a couple of loom bobbins converted into a mug tree.

Over time the base had split and it could no longer be used. So they reached out to me. I have repaired all sorts of items where possible, from Bird tables to garden ornaments. I am currently repairing two Remembrance Ceramic Poppies. So give me call, I may just be able to fix it. Thanks

No rest on a Sunday, apart from a couple of jobs yesterday, this morning tasked with improving the look of this shed. Customer will want guttering fitted to one side so it can fill her water butt with rain water in the near future. Thanks.

Just a couple of outside jobs today. Clean a small roof and gutter from moss.

Then remove and replace block sets that had dropped along one edge.

Thanks.

Good morning

I haven’t posted for a while, however once again had a go at revamping a downstairs cloak room. Never done one before and like the kitchen I did, learned a lot on the way. From stripping out the room it was soon realised we needed to get it re plastered. Also taken on a lot.

Tiled floor and walls halfway also proved difficult at times. Completely re plumbed, only to have a leak from the soil pipe connector going into the wall.

I think the before and after pictures say it all.

Thanks for taking the time.

Today’s task was to install wall panels, never done it before and was very happy with the result.

Using the remaining off cut behind the media desk.

Normally you install from the centre of the wall, to have an equal baton either end, on this occasion no need. Thank you.

Last week I was asked to build a number of IKEA wardrobes including various internal draws and add lighting. Securely attached to the wall, by removing the skirting board.

Also fit a new curtain pole and secure another wardrobe in a separate room.

Finally install a pulley system airer making sure this is attached to joists only. The was slightly delayed due to feeling under the weather but we perceive. Thanks.

Some weekend work and finished a room clearance.

This was used as an office. The customer wanted it stripped out and moving the brown unit in the corner revealed mold.

This was removed with neat vinegar and hot water. The room may needed to be re plastered, but not by me. 🥴

Not posted much lately sorry, some larger projects to come soon.

Today repaired a bathroom door which had split around the lock and is now fully functional again. As well as making good water damage to a ceiling. Thanks.

This morning I finished off installing an acrylic handrail. Although it appears to be simple enough, this came from china and nothing went smoothly.

No pre drilled holes for the brackets and the chrome end caps were smaller in diameter than the rail.

Using a dremel, the ends had been reduced enough, for the caps to finally fit. Something you wouldn’t expect to do.
