Under the station's canopy, alfresco dining is possible in all weathers. With family around, we've kept the barbeque going and sharing meals together.
How lovely.

History made exciting!
Yesterday we went to the Grange in Leominster to witness a Viking and Anglo-Saxon Battle Reenactment exploring Viking activity in the area and bringing local history to life.
This is part of a whole month of events also exploring the findings of the Herefordshire Hoard.

'Vikings at the Priory' continues today (Sunday 31st May 10-4pm).
When you go there, don't miss a tour of the encampments and talking to the actors. They really bring history alive with their in-depth knowledge of what was life, culture and art in that period.

Sunny days and warm evenings, barbecues and alfresco dining. Our green platform is a perfect spot to enjoy with family and friends while staying in our vintage railway carriages.

On a day out contemplating art in nature at the Canwood Gallery : a sculpture walk through their meadow, world-class contemporary art in their galleried spaces and a spot of refreshments at the sunken terrace. It is a real oasis with a great vision and wonderful story.

It was lovely meeting you Hannah. We are great fans.

From Bristol to Warrington, a pair of intrepid cyclists stayed at the Parcel Office for two-nights as a break on their road cycling journey.

Stopping at Gloucester before getting to us in north Herefordshire, they set off in the morning towards the lovely Bishops Castle in Shropshire.

While at the station and only 3 miles down the road, they enjoyed calling in at for supplies and going around the corner to the Wild Cow Dairy vending machine for hot coffee and fresh organic milk.

Paul gave them a short tour of the station as they were interested in seeing our new Brake van for two.
They also went off with the tip of looking out for another working weighbridge housed in what is part of the former train station at Bishops Castle, their next stop.
You never know, we might have instilled in them the idea of a cycling trip visiting railway heritage sites.

As Emma's bike pannier bag says, please remember to 'Give Cyclists Room' when overtaking as they travel on the road. Good advice, we say.

When having time, we can focus on the small things. The soft pink of the sticky catch-fly flower (the dark red stem is like that to stop insects crawling up). The profuse growth of the rock cinque-foil with its white daisy flowers, on what is fast becoming a gravel garden between the station buildings.

A red damselfly has just emerged from the pond and rests on plants prior to its maiden voyage. The beautiful zebra-like markings of a blonde spider actively crossing over grass.

The dark spots of the common-spotted orchid at the station's front lawn. The tangerine of the geum amongst the self-seeding aqualegias along the platform's flower bed.
