The PARAISO study is investigating whether a new therapy could help slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease, with Dundee the first site in the UK and Europe to enrol a participant.

A ‘property networking coffee morning’ ☕️ was a first for me but it was really good and informal. Haven’t been at many networking events for a few months for various reasons so this was a good opportunity to get back to it.

There were 8 of us which was fine for a cafe setting. We talked so much none of us thought of taking the obligatory snap for the socials 🤳

Thanks to Dave Robertson for encouraging me to come along and also for arranging it 🙏🏻

So the other day I had a planned annual leave day from my day job for something that was then cancelled. Instead of cancelling my annual leave day, I used that to get around some local Estate Agents in Broughty Ferry and reintroduce myself as it had been a while and got myself on mailing lists where available.

There was the added bonus of it being a glorious sunny day 😎 so a lovely walk along the esplanade was in order, 🏖️ something else I don’t do enough of!

Then into town and took the time to walk around the V&A, an area that I drive by almost every single day but never take the time to see what’s there and enjoy it. And it was lovely with a wee 🍦 to top it off. I was like a tourist in my own town but it was worth it.

From today, please refer to it as:
“The Gulf of Broughty Ferry”

Why? Because it’s just too fabulous to be called an estuary.
We’ve got dolphins, castles, golden beaches, award winning ice cream, paddleboarding pensioners, and sunsets that would make the Med weep with envy.

Next steps:
🚢 All arriving cruise ships to be diverted to BF harbour
🗺️ Google maps are rebranding the Gulf
🌅 Ibiza style sunset/ sunrise parties every Saturday on the beach 🎧

If you know me, you'll know Dundee is my home town and I still live and work here and always will. But here's some things you need to know if you visit or work in the sunniest and oldest city in Scotland:

1️⃣ It’s a circle, not a roundabout - yes, any Dundonian will correct you on this 😊

2️⃣ The Law isn’t a legal thing - The Dundee Law is the city’s iconic hill, offering the best panoramic views. And it's not called the "Law Hill", when you say that you're basically saying "Hill Hill" because in Scots, "Law" means "Hill!" 🌄

3️⃣ The Tay Rail Bridge has a ghost story - you’re passing over the site of the 1879 disaster where the original bridge collapsed in a storm. Some say you can still hear the spirits of lost passengers… 👻

4️⃣ Penguins are everywhere, but they’re not real! - You’ll find statues of penguins all over Dundee, thanks to the city’s connection to Antarctic exploration. But if you hear "Check the penguins at Discovery Point," don’t expect live ones! 🐧
