We hung up our boots last night ready for Christmas Day family festivities. We got a message late in the evening from a lovely lady in Ampthill whose fence had come down in the winds and was hanging and flapping precariously to the entrance of a busy residents car park.

We couldn't leave this like this with all the potential damage it could cause to the wider residents property and disturbance it would make coming in and out of the car park so we put our boots back on this morning, Christmas Day, and went and dismantled the fence line .

The lovely lady from Ampthill was unbelievably hospitable with home made sausage rolls and an infinite supply of tea, thank you very much.

We've now hung up our boots, again, until tomorrow where we are available and on call again if anyone should need us.

Many people will be taking a well deserved break to see the festivities through with friends and family.

Our installation teams will however be on call during this period, as the storm season unfortunately doesn't recognise the festive holiday and just like The Grinch, or the Mother-in-law, may decide to make an unwanted appearance.

We are available and have slots available between now and the New Year if you would so wish for us to replace or repair that fence line that's been swinging in the wind.

This isn't the sexist er****on.....fence er****on but it ticks all the boxes, through strong and sturdy construction, security concious and provides ease of access to an awkward and elevated provision for the tenants vehicles round the back of the property.

The "council estate" stereotype of concrete posts and gravel boards is fast becoming dormant as people realise that compared to their timber counterpart, they will never rot and most likely remain unscathed storm after storm after storm.

Installed with the right attention to geometric detail and an attractive, good quality and well made accompanying fence panel, the "council estate" label is a thing of the past.

The Fence & Fencibility team installed this 40m run for a client in Bierton in Buckinghamshire using 2.4m slotted concrete posts, 300mm gravel boards and brown dipped Closeboard panels and we think it looks rather contemporary.

New fenceline being installed in Tring, Hertfordshire today. Replacing rotting timber posts and lap edge panels with forever lasting concrete slotted posts and much sturdier Closeboard panels with 150mm concrete boards gravel.

Concrete posts and gravel boards will NEVER rot and with reinforced rods set inside them, will stand up to strong winds too.
