Tommy Turbo can turn his hand to pretty much anything… 🐢💪

But there’s one job he’s always wanted to do…
Forklift driver. 😂

So naturally, we gave him a chance.

Unfortunately, Tommy quickly discovered that wanting the job and actually fitting in the forklift are two very different things. 😂

After a lot of determination (and very little legroom), we’ve had to break the news to him…

Forklift driver probably isn’t going to work out.

Looks like he’ll be sticking to what he does best, standing around looking important and supervising everyone else. 🐢😂

We’ve recently joined the Burnley Bondholders, and today we had the pleasure of getting our complimentary Bondholder photography package. 📸

Andy was an absolute legend, full of energy, ideas and somehow convinced us that we were all going to look good on camera! 😂

Even Tommy Turbo got involved and, to be fair, he was a natural in front of the lens. 🐢 🎬

Now comes the real challenge… let’s see how well Andy can polish a turd! 😂😂

Can’t wait to see the finished photos! 📸

I bet you’re wondering why we’re posting a picture of 6 packs of Maggi noodles 😂

Well, there’s a bit of a story behind them…

Last week we moved a lady of age who was downsizing and moving to a completely new area.

While we were there, we got chatting and realised she didn’t have any family or friends around her.

She’d moved over from India as a young girl and had clearly collected a lifetime of memories along the way. And when I say collected… I mean COLLECTED 😂

There was so much stuff, and most of it meant something to her. There was a story behind everything.

By the time we’d got it all into the new house, there was basically a pathway from one room to the next and that was it 😂

We’d done our job. We’d packed everything, moved it and got it all into her new home.

But the whole team couldn’t help but worry about how she was going to manage afterwards. She wasn’t particularly steady on her feet as it was and was quite frail to say the least. The thought of her being left there on her own with all those boxes didn’t sit right with us.

So one of our team volunteered to give up their Sunday and go back to help her unpack.
I think more than anything, she just appreciated having someone there.

They had a good chinwag over a coffee, going through her things and talking about the memories they held and the stories behind them. It wasn’t just unpacking boxes, it was listening to her talk about a lifetime of memories.

While they were going through everything, they also tried to work out if there was anything she actually wanted to part with.

The answer was basically no 😂

Well… apart from 6 packs of Maggi noodles.

Out of about 30.

She wanted to give them as a little gift to my son as I’d told her he enjoys them. They are all out of date like, but the thought was there 😂

That’s the bit I love about this job though.

You can start the day thinking you’re just packing and moving someone, and you end up drinking coffee, having a chinwag and hearing stories about someone’s life that you probably wouldn’t have heard otherwise.
And it could be the last time some of those stories are ever told.

For us, ‘Let our family move yours’ isn’t just a strapline. It’s about actually looking after the people we move.

I’m so proud of the whole team for this one. ❤️

And yes, we still have the 6 packs of Maggi. Whether we’ll be brave enough to eat them is another question 😂

We don’t just do removals… we do storage too. 📦

Let’s be honest, how many houses have a “dumping room”?😂

The room that started off as a spare bedroom but has slowly become home to everything that doesn’t have a home.

End of July tomorrow and it’s been our busiest month in our history!

There’s been good days and there’s been bad days but we got through it !

Over 60 families moved and August doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down…

Big thanks to all the team inc a few new faces ! Including Robyn who has had the lads following her round in a turtle suit 🤣

She’s fit in perfectly!

We hopefully welcome Jodie Atkinson back next week too after what feels like 2 years off (it’s been 6 weeks) after an operation. She has defo milked it !

Customers have definitely noticed the slow replies and missed emails 👋💪
