🍊 A little bit of autumn magic at Peake’s Retreats. 🍂
I love making the yurts smell nice for guests arriving. Usually, that’s a candle or a wax melt, but this weekend I was feeling particularly autumnal, so I decided to try something a little different.
Enter the simmer pot.
Our new Dutch oven, a few slices of blood orange and lemon, fresh ginger, apple slices, cinnamon sticks and cloves. Nothing complicated, just a handful of ingredients that make the whole place smell absolutely amazing.
And imagine arriving at Potters Lodge on a crisp autumn afternoon, with the woodburner already lit, the yurt all warm and cosy, and that beautiful smell of citrus, cinnamon and ginger filling the air.
Your bags are down, your phone is forgotten, and for a little while, there’s absolutely nowhere else you need to be.
That’s what I love about our off-grid yurt glamping at Peake’s Retreats in Staffordshire. It’s not about having loads of things to do or the latest technology. It’s about the little details, slowing down and enjoying a different pace of life.
Would you prefer a candle or a simmer pot to welcome you to your autumn getaway?
