The Waterways awards will highlight those companies and organisations that have shown a dedicated commitment to their profession or the waterways generally and have achieved excellent standards of workmanship and service. There are 11 award categories in total, ranging across the UK inland boating industry and waterways community. The Awards are open to all organisations operating on non-tidal, in
land waterways within England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Companies and organisations of any size can enter. Organisations are asked to submit their own entries but third-party nominations of suitable organisations are also encouraged. The awards will be judged by a panel of independent experts including WW Editor Bobby Cowling and Technical Editor Mark Langley. The other panel members are IWA Chairman Les Etheridge, BMF Senior Director Sarah Dhanda and David Fuller, an independent marine surveyor. A public vote will also contribute towards the judging panel’s decision. The first Awards will be presented at a ceremony and dinner on Friday October 24th at the ICC in Birmingham and, it is planned, on an annual basis at the same time each year. The awards are an excellent opportunity to showcase your organisation’s achievements and the Gala Dinner is a chance to celebrate the work of all waterways businesses and community projects across the UK. To enter, you must complete a nomination form and supply supporting evidence such as customer testimonials, details of key events in the past year or coverage in the press. The deadline for entering has been extended to Friday 13th June. Full details of award categories and nomination forms can be downloaded online at www.waterwaysawards.com or by emailing [email protected].
