Another pine floor saved in Rhiwbina.
Customer requested removal of concrete to old hearth area and replace with matching blocks.
Sometimes, once a floor is fully sanded it can show up a few imperfections due to cleaning/water ingress etc during it's life. This particular floor is nearly 100 years old.
Those slight imperfections can give it a bit of character and show it's vintage.

Another full restoration of this very unloved parquet flooring. Concrete removed from hearth area, self levelling compound applied and reclaimed pine blocks used to make a feature of where the hearth used to be.
Dustless sand to whole area and high quality polyurethane varnish applied.

Last post from me this year and one I'm very proud of.
The floors in this stunning 1920's property in Rhiwbina were in a very sorry state. Hadn't been sanded for 20+ years and whoever sanded them then didn't do a particularly good job. It's been quite a long process to remove all the previous sanding divots/machine marks to get it fully flat again. Finished with the highest quality polyurethane varnish for a long lasting durable finish.
Thanks to all of my customers for allowing me to restore their parquet flooring in 2025, it really has been non stop! And to all customers booked in for 2026, I'm very much looking forward to restoring yours.

This parquet flooring was pretty much a complete mess. Customer had specific requirements with regard to hearth area build in preparation for their plinth style hearth.
Reclaimed blocks to compliment the 100 year old original parquet. Fully restored floor to the highest standard and 100% dust free sanding.

My latest project - customer asked if I could build parquet flooring from old (existing) through to extension room using old reclaimed blocks to match. Yep, I can do that!
Left side (lighter colour) is original 1930's, from that point onwards is my work. Tomorrow I'll sand the original and finish to match through.

It's so lovely when a customer sends me some pics of their floor that I've restored for them. I very rarely see it after the varnish has fully cured and their furniture is back in the room.

Harpers Restorations are proud to announce that we have taken delivery of one of (if not the) most advanced floor sanding machines on the market. 99.98% dust capture and stunning sanding results. This machine has a huge sanding drum and within are three 200mm sanding plates which spin independently of each other which means no sanding marks are present. The sanding plates are not rigid which allows total control on uneven floor surfaces thus resulting in a finish no other machine currently on the market can achieve. We can confirm after using the machine today that the results are astonishing. A huge investment, worth every penny.
