CMR DEVELOPMENTS are looking to bring on a time-served general builder / bricklayer or small building team to work alongside us on multiple projects across Cumbria.

We’ve got a strong pipeline including:

✔️ Garage conversions
✔️ Full renovations
✔️ Property refurbishments

✔️ Time-served, experienced builder (no labourers stepping up)
✔️ Confident in extensions & full renovations
✔️ CSCS card holder (or willing to work towards)
✔️ Able to read drawings & run jobs
✔️ Reliable, organised and takes pride in quality work

Our large renovation is in full swing! 🔨🏡

Plenty happening on site and it’s all starting to come together:

✔️ 3 upstairs rooms now being decorated 🎨
✔️ Stone, stone and more stone — prepped, faced and laid 🪨
✔️ Utility floor ripped up, prepped and ready for pipework and concrete
✔️ All supports and acrows removed — steels now fully in and set
✔️ Window openings cut and ready for installation

Next week is all about:
✔️ More stonework
✔️ Floors coming up
✔️ Underfloor heating installation
✔️ Studwork going in

We’re right on track and really happy with the progress so far 💪
Looking forward to the rest of the trades coming in this month and pushing things on even further.

Back to the boss’s roots this week… sandstone work 🪨🔨

Sorting, facing, prepping and building with random sandstone — just like being a teenager again…
only now with the knees of a pensioner 😂

If there’s any builders looking for a bit of gap-filling work, more than welcome to jump in 💪

Also on site this week:
✔️ Floor prep underway ready for underfloor heating
✔️ Big renovation right where it needs to be at this stage

Great progress across a few of our projects this week! 🔨🏡

On one job:
✔️ Kitchen installed — and it’s looking spot on 👌
✔️ Floors down in the kitchen and hallway
✔️ Doors trimmed and re-hung
✔️ Bathroom underway (photos to follow 👀)

We’ve also been testing out some new GRP roofing on a small flat roof — could this be the next system we roll out on more of our jobs? 🤔

Meanwhile, over on our big renovation:

✔️ Roof works progressing well
✔️ Final walls coming out
✔️ Sandstone walls and piers started this week
✔️ Another staircase removed and opening covered over

All in preparation for what’s going to be a serious feature staircase install 👌

This project is really starting to come together now — loads more to come 💪

Not even the bank holiday weekend and we’ve already made massive progress on our big renovation! 🔨🏡

Thanks to the roofing team putting the hours in over the weekend, we now have:
✔️ One roof fully felted and battened
✔️ 2 new Velux windows installed
✔️ Fully watertight and maintenance-free for the future

Massive shout-out to Phil P J plant 🙌
– 2 x Genie Superlifts on hire
(Apparently free if you give his page a like and share what a legend 👍🏻😂)

Inside the property:
✔️ Upstairs steels installed
✔️ More walls knocked out
✔️ Final chimney down

Now ready to lift in 3 more steels thanks to John & Bespoke Fabrications
(Likes to stay under the radar… but we know who you are 👀 give him a follow 😂)

Next up — more stone to store, prep and clean, ready for some quality detailed stonework 👌

This one is moving fast now 💪
