☀️ Top tips for beating the heat!

A few simple changes can help keep your home cooler and protect your health during heatwaves:

🏠 Close curtains or blinds during the hottest part of the day
🌙 Open windows at night when it’s cooler outside
💨 Use fans safely and keep air flowing through your home
🔌 Turn off unused lights and electricals to reduce extra heat
🛏️ Sleep in the coolest room if possible
📍 Spend time in cooler public spaces like libraries or supermarkets if needed

Older adults, young children, pregnant women, and people with health conditions can be more vulnerable in hot weather so check in on friends, family, and neighbours too.

We have been made aware of scammers operating in some of our communities claiming to be from the “Social Housing Standards Agency” and asking residents if they can enter their homes to take damp or mould readings.

These individuals may cold call or knock on doors pretending to represent organisations such as the “Social Housing Standards Agency,” “Housing Standards Agency,” “Housing Disrepair Teams” or even claim to be working for, or on behalf of, Castles & Coasts.

Our staff carry ID and will always show it when asked.
