Work carried out repairing some steps that had dropped away from this property.
Work included cutting and dressing a new step that was cut from a window cil that had been previously removed.
Utilising the same stone as the existing steps where cut from that when weathered will match in just nicely 👌🏻

Love a nice mixture of jobs and the challenges they bring😁 from stonework to brickwork, joinery to tiling not forgetting stove installs which have been put on the back burner a little..😬this weeks jobs included the completion of this over ply and skim of of a hallway and installation of glue down lvt flooring joining seamlessly into adjoining rooms I’ve previously done.
Top step of the stairs finished of nicely with a bullnose lvt trim.
Whatever the work I always leave a finish to the highest standard.😊👍

It’s been a busy start to the year with this job….
Complete rebuild of the gable end wall of this 300ish year old building using traditional techniques and lime mortar.
Work included removal of the dry dash render which was hiding some nightmares 🙈….
The stone work behind was extremely loose and leaning out past the roofline allowing water to track down between the render and stone and with years of neglect the stone had moved around so much with frost etc that the only option was to prop the roof and remove almost the entire gable end wall!
Massive thank you to Ray Fendwick of priory buildings Lanercost for his help cleaning off and sorting through countless tons of stone and providing a helping hand along the way.
All of the stone removed was cleaned off redressed where needed and reused with the introduction of new Alston stone coins and lintels to form a new window and door openings.
So many other parts to this work also with alterations to the roof with installation off new timbers to secure everything in place.
Removal of the old ceiling/joists within the room and installation of new joists with an eco friendly woodwool board finish set for lime plastering.
Removal of broken slates up the end of the roof an introduction of reclaimed Welsh slate to finish the roof with an overhang above the gable wall!
Thanks also to NSD Lanercost for their help cutting the slope on the stone cil.
Wayne Steel for the help with the scaffold.
The jobs just keep on getting bigger 🙉😅👍
