💥 BLOCKAGE CLEARED – KIRKBRIDE AIRFIELD 💥

Called out to Kirkbride Airfield yesterday evening after reports of a drainage blockage.

On arrival, we found a heavily surcharged inspection chamber full of foul waste. 💩 The blockage was cleared and flow restored, but as always, we didn’t just stop there.

📹 CCTV inspection carried out to find the cause, which identified:

❌ Major sections of backfall with waste and water sitting in the line
❌ Broken pipework
❌ Large open joints along the drainage run
❌ Existing pipework in poor condition on the route towards the septic tank

🔧 RECOMMENDED REMEDIAL WORKS

The recommendation is to excavate and replace the affected pipework, relaying the drainage across the garden towards the septic tank with the correct continuous fall, suitable bedding and correctly sealed connections.

This is exactly why we carry out CCTV checks when investigating drainage problems — clearing the blockage gets things moving, but finding the cause helps prevent the same problem coming back.

📹 CCTV DRAINAGE SURVEY – CARLISLE 💩

We attended a property in Carlisle yesterday evening after the customer reported a persistent foul odour coming through the downstairs toilet.

A full CCTV inspection of the drainage line identified:

✅ Multiple sections of backfall in the pipework
✅ Standing foul water sitting within the drainage line
✅ Incorrect fall preventing the system from draining freely
✅ Likely source of the foul odour identified

Further investigation confirmed the affected section requires excavation and remedial works, with the drainage pipework to be relaid to the correct fall to allow the system to flow freely.

📹 This is exactly why CCTV inspections are so important — they allow us to see what’s happening underground and identify the actual cause rather than guessing.

💩 BLOCKAGE CLEARED – SCOTBY 💩

Another fast response from the DS Drainage team today! 💪

📞 We received the call and were on site within the hour.

On arrival, we found the drainage line heavily blocked with a thick build-up of sewage. We got the line moving again before thoroughly washing and flushing the system through.

🎥 A CCTV inspection identified a large open joint where the newer plastic inspection chamber connects onto the old clay drainage line — a likely point for future build-up and problems.

✅ Blockage cleared
✅ Line thoroughly flushed
✅ CCTV inspection carried out
✅ Cause identified
✅ Drainage left flowing freely
