TENANTS
We understand you will be finding it a worrying time at present. At Cornerstones we want to reassure our tenants that we are here to support you.
You may have seen the announcement lately from Government on how tenants will be supported during the Coronavirus pandemic with regard rent payments, if they have been affected in anyway. There is help available to avoid falling into arrears.
If you do fall into arrears the arrears will still have to be paid.
Those already on benefits will not be affected.
If you continue to be in employment, there are measures the Government have recently announced to support your Employer with Financial Assistance.
Payment Holidays to Landlords does not apply, only those owner/occupiers with mortgages. The Holiday refers to deferred payments at a later date.
It is important that you keep in touch with us and let us know if you are in financial difficulty so that we can make your landlord aware of the situation and work with you to get through it.
If you are having difficulties, we would encourage you to apply for Statutory Sick Pay and Universal Credit if you are eligible. The Government has introduced temporary changes to make it easier to apply. Further details can be found here https://www.understandinguniversalcredit.gov.uk/coronavirus/
Inspections: We have suspended these for the time being but will, of course, be monitoring the situation and continue them when it is safe for all to do so.
Gas Safety Inspections / Repairs: These will continue but we will have to take into consideration if tenants are self-isolating or have recently returned from abroad. . Repairs/Improvements scheduled will continue providing it is safe for all to do so
For now, adhering to government guidelines on preventing the spread of infection, is important and our office will be closed but you can still get in touch via email or text- 07848035124
As always, if you have an emergency please text or email us 07848035124.
Thank you for working with us during this difficult time.
