Halfway Houses Clootie & Cranachan, self-catering accommodation, Carnoustie are situated on the outskirts of Carnoustie (between Dundee and Arbroath).

🚕🚞🚌 Rather than drive, you can book a taxi to the TRAIN station in either Carnoustie or Broughty Ferry, TO Leuchars in Fife (the closest station to St Andrews, where transfers will be made available through The Open), or you could pre-book a private people carrier cab / BUS.

They produce award-winning luscious Moonshines - including Clootie & Cranachan (yes our houses were named after them), and Gins - including Paul Lawrie OBE, Open Championship Winner at Carnoustie Golf Links in 1999’s very own Scottish Gin. A Taster Experience is highly recommended! Check their socials for What’s On around your visit.

WILL WE BE ABLE TO USE THE HOT TUB AT THAT TIME OF YEAR?
🍂🌧️🌥️✨🥶🌱☀️

We are on the East Coast of Scotland and our Guests come from far and wide, so this is a fair question!

So far we haven’t experienced a deep deep frost or a really heavy snowfall that has prohibited a delightful dip or a satisfying stay, so judging from the weather to date, the answer will likely be YES 👍 you should be fine to enjoy hot tub dips, beach walks, golf rounds, socialising and work throughout the seasons whilst based at our self-catering accommodation, but of course we have no control over the weather (which could be wet - but hey you’ll get wet in the tub anyway) - all we can do is keep our🤞for you.

I thought it would be nice to share some of your fantastic feedback - outlining the differing reasons for staying - throughout the year 💬

It really is a wonderful feeling knowing you have played a positive part in so many peoples special occasions.
