A work in progress here in North Cadbury

We’re removing the original Redland Cambrian slates and old mortar bedded ridge, stripping the roof back to the rafters and clearing away the old bitumen felt and battens.

We’ve then installed Cromar Vent3 Air breathable membrane and new 25 × 50mm graded roofing battens, before refitting the existing Cambrian slates with new clips and a few replacements. A new permavent dry fix ridge system will finish the job.

Keeping the character of the original roof while giving it a much needed upgrade underneath.

Another roof we just completed in Wincanton

We removed all of the old, failing mortar from the ridge and hip lines and replaced it with a brand new dry-fix ridge and hip system, providing a much stronger & maintenance free finish, we also replaced the old mortar verges with new dry-fix caps, which required us to remove the old battens underneath and replace them with new treated 25x50 battens.

The old GRP fibreglass valley which had cracked over time, was also removed and replaced with a new GRP valley to make sure the roof is properly protected for years to come.

We stripped this one right back to the rafters before installing new over fascia vents, eaves carriers, 25x50 graded battens, CROMAR Vent 3 Air breathable membrane, and finishing it with a new dry fix ridge and verge system.

Another leaking roof sorted in Bruton!

This property had an active leak where the roof meets the wall due to failing lead flashing.

We’ve installed new lead flashing to the abutment, leaving the roof fully watertight and built to last.

- New lead flashing installed

Another Flat Roof Brought Back to Life!

This ageing bitumen felt flat roof had reached the end of its life, so we stripped it back and rebuilt it using OSB3 tongue & groove decking, before installing a brand new CROMAR GRP fibreglass roofing system. The roof was then finished with CROMAR’s UV-resistant grey topcoat for maximum durability and a smart, modern finish.

To complete the job, we installed new code 4 lead flashing around the entire perimeter, ensuring a long lasting, watertight seal.

Full Flat Roof Replacement

This old bitumen torch-on felt roof had completely failed and was causing an active leak into the property.

We stripped everything back, removing the worn felt, old chipboard and all failed timbers and rebuilt the structure properly using new 5x2 treated timbers with additional noggins for strength and rigidity!

On top of that:
• T&G OSB3 boards installed
• All new GRP edge trims fitted
• Finished in the Cure It GRP Roofing System for a seamless, long lasting, waterproof finish.

To tie everything together, we used the MetroFlex flexible Roofing System to professionally merge into the two adjoining bitumen roofs.

We also fitted new white PVC guttering and a new downpipe, separating our client’s drainage from the neighbour’s garage for a much cleaner and correct setup.

No patches & No shortcuts.

BEFORE ➡️ AFTER – Loft Boarding Upgrade

This loft was barely usable with loose boards and compressed insulation.

We stripped it back and installed a solid new raised platform using T&G OSB3 boards fixed down to 2.4m lengths of 4x2 treated timber, creating a strong, level and moisture-resistant storage area 💪

Now it’s safe, secure and built properly — ready for years of practical use.

Before & After – Bruton

Lean-to abutment onto a polycarbonate roof that wasn’t properly protected where it met the wall.

Removed and replaced with new Code 4 lead flashing, chased into the masonry and dressed correctly over the sheets for a clean, watertight finish.

No sealant-only patches — just lead work done properly and built to last.
