Fancy doing something a little magical during your stay at Blackbird? Why not look at the stars up close from a beautiful observatory right here in Dumfries and Galloway. All free and welcome to everyone.

Astronomy Nights at Dumfries Museum coming soon! October 10th and 17th, 5-8pm.
What to expect?
Outside = telescopes, binoculars and our friends from Dumfries Astronomy Club to help you stargaze.
Inside = talks on the museum's connections with astronomy and Robert Waland 'the man who mapped the moon'. There's a whole museum to enjoy with biscuits, teas and coffees as well as trails, activities and a chance to see historic telescopes and inside the Camera Obscura.
All free, everyone welcome, suitable for all ages.

Our traditional welcome pack at Blackbird includes some tasty treats 😋 These aren't always everyone's cup of tea though. In our welcome message we always check for allergies just to be safe. Todays lovely guest chose to have these stunning flowers instead 😍

We are loving these beautiful autumnal evenings here at Blackbird. Lots of guests have commented they're enjoying evening strolls before settling into the hot tub to enjoy our dark skies and star gazing 🤩

We are so lucky to have so many activities on our doorstep here in Dumfries and Galloway. This weekend our guests can enjoy the Kirkcudbright Fringe. Thank you to everyone locally who organises all these brilliant things. Have a fab weekend folks 🤩

If you missed out market on Sunday, don’t worry! There’s still a chance to get yourself some lovely homemade produce this Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th as we have an extra two day market on in the soaperie gardens from 11am-3pm both days.

It’ll be a little smaller than our usual one but still just as great.

Port O'Warren is such a lovely part of the coastal path here in D&G. Deserted sandy beaches followed by dramatic cliff top walks only 20 mins from Blackbird. Why not book and explore for yourself? 🤩
