WINNERS - 24/06/26⚜️🏆

What a fantastic cup final we’ve witnessed today. Both teams gave absolutely everything from the first whistle to the last, producing a brilliant game of rugby that showcased the very best of the sport.

There were some outstanding tries, tremendous defensive efforts, and incredible determination on display throughout. Credit must go to both Lock Lane and Oulton for serving up such an entertaining and competitive final.

As the game entered its closing stages, it was truly nail-biting, with the result hanging in the balance right until the end. But Lock Lane dug deep, showed great character, and secured the victory to retain the Wakefield District Cup for a second consecutive year.

To the players of Lock Lane, congratulations on a fantastic achievement. Your hard work, teamwork, and commitment have been rewarded with another trophy.

Well done to every player, coach, volunteer, and supporter involved. Finals like this are what grassroots rugby is all about.

There were mistakes today, but there was a good effort & attitude from everyone. The girls stuck together, kept working hard, and the second half was an improvement.
