🍂💦Gutter brushes or no gutters brushes? That is the question!💦🍂

Do they work?

Yes and no. As soon as you place the brushes in the gutter line you are reducing the gutter efficiency by a good 50%. If all you need to protect your gutters from is leaf litter, then they may increase the time in which you need them cleared in the future. But you will still need them cleared at some point.

However in the south, we have a moss problem and it’s the moss that will cause you issues if you have or want gutter brushes.

The moss will just sit on top of the brush and as it breaks down, it falls through into the gutter. The brittles of the brush then stops those partials from draining away and you end up with a blockage and leaky gutters! Then when the brushes need to be removed for cleaning, they make a right mess on the ground below and your windows!

Cost? Not only do you have the initial outlay of the brushes and installation, but when the brushes need to be cleaned, the charge is likely to be double or even treble that of a standard gutter clear.

So in our honest opinion, in the vast majority of cases we wouldn’t recommend using gutter brushes. Instead let the gutters do their job and get them cleared on a annual basis 👍🛠️🙂

Just a heads up for anyone heading towards Wi******er or beyond, you may want to consider your options.

A lorry has over turned at junction 8 of the M3 northbound. Not only that but junction 9 also remains closed due to over running works! The motorway has been closed between junctions 8-9 for resurfacing so as you can imagine its carnage all around Wi******er and surrounding areas!😔🚛❗️
