Working with joint venture partners Broadfield Homes, plans have now been submitted for 4 new dwellings in Fordham, Colchester, Essex.

The proposals seek to transform the existing kennels and cattery site through the removal of a substantial area of commercial buildings, hardstanding and associated activity that currently detracts from the setting of the historic farmstead and surrounding heritage assets. Designed through a heritage-led approach, the scheme introduces four high-quality homes arranged in a traditional courtyard layout inspired by historic Essex farmsteads.

Alongside delivering new homes, the proposals reduce the developed footprint of the site, create opportunities for enhanced landscaping and biodiversity, and are expected to reduce overall site activity and vehicle movements compared with the existing use.
