Nobody wants to reach into a box and find the knives first.

With other things, the risk is to the item. With knives, it's to whoever unpacks that box.

Wrap them carefully and the only surprise at the other end is which box the kettle's in.

If the kitchen is the room you'd rather not pack, get in touch.

If you had to pack a wardrobe box, what would go in first? Shoes, belts, or clothes?

Most people guess clothes. We recommend shoes and belts placed in the bottom first, then you hang the clothes so that nothing arrives creased.

"This is the second time I've used Clarks of Amersham – once for our office move, and now for Mum's move, and both times it was an excellent experience.

Two different teams, and every person was polite, respectful of the space, super careful and efficient in packing and loading our kit on to their vans.

Nothing was too much trouble. Everything arrived in perfect condition, including a dozen loose eggs!! Cannot recommend them highly enough."

We treat every picture and mirror differently.

Some get wrapped and boxed upright, others get the full envelope pack with layers of crushed paper for cushioning.

Not all your favourite paintings can go in bubble wrap either, some can stick to the paint and cause damage, so we know which ones need extra care.

Moving a parent into a care home is hard enough without also emptying and selling the family home.

One of our clients recently thanked us for exactly that kind of support, working alongside Amersham Auction Rooms to find good homes for the auctionable items.

He called the team "compassionate and caring" throughout, which is exactly how we'd want it to feel.

"At a very difficult time where we had to move my Mum into a care home and then clear and sell her house to pay for the costs involved, Barrie from Amersham Auction Rooms organised for Clarks of Amersham to come over to take the unmarked items to landfill or charity and the auctionable ones were taken to Amersham Auction Rooms as part of their service.

The guys arrived bang on time and in a very compassionate and caring way cleared the house for us. I left them to it and they called me when everything was all done. An excellent, professional service from a great local company. Highly recommended."
