A positive start to the year for Paramount Block & Estate Management.🥳

We’re pleased to share that the year has begun with real momentum, including the addition of new team members and several new management instructions across the region. It’s always encouraging to see developments choosing a more local, transparent and hands-on approach to management, and we’re grateful for the continued trust placed in our team.

One development we’re particularly proud to be supporting is Portland Court, New Brighton where we have worked closely with leaseholders through the collective enfranchisement process and are now delighted to be providing full management services moving forward. We look forward to helping the community build on this important milestone and ensuring the development is well cared for in the years ahead.

Thank you to all residents, directors and partners who continue to support Paramount. We’re excited for what the rest of the year will bring.

Commonhold Reform: Now Is the Time to Engage.

The Government has launched its consultation on transitioning new flats to commonhold and ending leasehold for new builds.

For those of us working in block and estate management, this is not just another policy update. The direction of travel could significantly alter the framework within which future developments are owned, governed and operated.

From managing agents and developers to RMC directors, advisers and leaseholders — anyone involved in multi-occupancy residential property should take the time to review the proposals. Practical, on-the-ground experience will be vital in shaping legislation that is workable, balanced and sustainable.

At Paramount Block and Estate Management, our initial reflections are measured:
• Empowering homeowners and improving transparency is a positive step.
• Reform must avoid unintended structural complexity.
• Existing legal protections embedded within Landlord & Tenant law should not be diluted without clear, workable alternatives.

Structural reform of this scale needs to be carefully designed to avoid fragmentation, operational uncertainty or uneven rights between ownership models.

We will be submitting a formal response and will share our considered position in due course.

Managing agents must now register with a government-approved redress scheme — a welcome step for accountability.

But is that enough? At Paramount Block & Estate Management, as proud members of The Property Institute (TPI), we believe the next step should be:
# Mandatory accreditation
# An enforceable Code of Conduct
# Qualifications & CPD for all agents

That’s how we can raise standards and build trust.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working closely with the award-winning Blueoak Estates to help launch Centurion House in Chester and hand it over to its new owners.

It’s been a whirlwind 6 months – sorry we’ve not been posting much!
We’ve been so busy helping some fantastic developments that the updates have taken a back seat… but this one is too good not to share.

A few months ago, we took on Heritage Court on Lower Bridge Street, right in the heart of Chester.
Working hand-in-hand with the freeholder and the Residents’ Association, we’ve been giving this stunning development the TLC it’s been missing.

The difference already is amazing – the place has a real buzz again, and everyone’s pulling together to make Heritage Court the prestigious, desirable address it should be.

We couldn’t be happier to see it on the up… and this is just the start! 💙
