LEADWORK 🔥‼️

What started as a small job quickly turned into something much bigger on this 100+ year old property.

Once we opened up the structure, it became clear the existing brickwork had significantly failed and wasn’t safe to support the load above. The original plan had to change on the spot - safety always comes first.

We installed temporary supports, carefully removed the compromised brickwork, and fitted a new steel beam to properly carry the load. Everything was then rebuilt and secured to ensure the structure is solid for years to come.

Older properties always have a way of surprising you, but that’s where experience matters. We adapt, solve the problem properly, and never cut corners.

From ‘StEel WoRk’ to ‘STEELWORK’ 👨‍🏭‼️

We’ve been cracking on with a project where we discovered a book full of nasties, from miss-matched steelwork to hollow supporting pillars.

Please please please, if you are incapable of carrying out a job of this scale without completing it to the correct standard, DONT DO IT!

You end up putting people’s lives in the balance of insufficient structural framework, anyone with a conscience would NOT be able to leave a job how we found this.

🔨 Extension Progress Update – Structural Work Underway! 🏡

Another home transformation in progress!

We’ve completed the concrete base and begun the structural opening to create a larger, brighter living space for our client. The team has:

✅ Extended existing reinforced concrete raft
✅ Installed structural supports and acrow props
✅ Carefully dismantled original extension
✅ Prepared new foundations for the extension build

👀Just stumbled across this little beaut of an entry, so popped it into Septembers Installer of the Month comp. Jamie Robson of JNR Contracting installed a whopping 150 metres of our Defender Curved Ridge on a care home.

The integral stabilisers on these gull spikes hold the spike in place while the silicone cures, ensuring they stay exactly where you put them. Determined gulls that like to perch on the ridge have been known to return while the spikes are curing and try to move them. The stabilisers make that very difficult for the birds. Of course, as we know, once the ridge has been proofed, gulls will often abandon the property altogether for an easier place to perch.
