MAID hope everyone has now received our latest leaflet on how to respond to the CDC Housing Plan and also the Brookworth Housing Planning Application. Many thanks to the many villagers who gave time to deliver them. Nothing is possible without your help.
Now please send off your comments so CDC are made fully aware of our feelings.
MAID will be at the Village Hall next Saturday 26th Sept from 10 to 4 to help anyone who needs help to put in their views.

An update on Tuesday's Meeting with CDC at the village hall.
All the tickets are now gone sadly.

MAID will however be hiring the hall from 7.45 till 9 pm for those of you who cannot get tickets and you are most welcome to come along and talk to us. We will be explaining ways that you can comment on the CDC plan. If you have a specific question for CDC please send it to us so we can ask it on your behalf Also if you want to be kept informed of what is happening on the housing situation please message us with your email.

MAID would like to remind you all of the CDC meeting to 'explain' their Housing Plan at the Village Hall on this Tuesday 8th at 6 pm. You can find out how to get a ticket on the Mickleton Parish Council Web Site.

Can you message us with Questions you would like answers for from the CDC at this meeting, so we can make sure all your anxieties and concerns are addressed. We are sure there are plenty!

Brookworth have put in a planning application for 85 houses in thr field at the top of Furrow Way. Access would be via Furrow Way/Mattock Mews, for both the construction traffic and residents.

To add your comments, got to: .https://www.cotswold.gov.uk/planning-and-building/planning-permission/view-planning-applications. Click on the button which says "search for a planning application" and enter 26/02433/FUL.

MAID committee are meeting tomorrow evening to discuss both this and the Local Plan and will send further info after that.

So here is an interesting development. There are 6 District Councils in Gloucestershire. Two of these have withdrawn their new Housing Plans - Stroud and the Forest of Dene.
We call on CDC to stop promoting a badly designed and unfunded Housing Plan and return to planning a housing policy that reflects the wishes and needs of your constituents. This is not a political appeal. This is a move that will protect and nurture the people who live here, and also those that wish to live here. WUTHDRAW THE PLAN BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.
Thankyou to everyone who has helped deliver our leaflet. We urge you all to send in your own message to the CDC about this plan.

We realise the Map on our leaflet on the CDC Regulation 19 is not easy to understand so here is another from the plan showing the areas they are planning to put houses. Both strategic and non-strategic sites are due for development if this Plan is accepted by Government. Stratford Road is the thick black line on the plan. You can find the plan at www.cotswold.gov.uk/local plan and this also has a link to the consultation forms.

MAID will today start delivering a new leaflet in the village explaining the effect of the CDC Housing Plan (Regulation 19) which aims to add a further 1400 homes to our village with very little extra infrastructure to help absorb this enormous increase. You can now comment on this plan during the consultation period which lasts until 5th October.
MAID will be advising how to do this, with suggestions on what you might wish to say on our website www.mickletonaid.co.uk
CDC will be holding a meeting here in the village Hall on 8th September to 'explain' why they have decided to treble the number of houses to be allowed to be built here, and why they continue to ignore the vast number of houses to be built in Long Marston, and the effect that will have on our village.

I see MAID's Petition has reached 17000. It shows the depth of feeling against this housing madness that there is throughout the Country.
We see Brookworth homes are advertising for their new development behind the Shepherds Fold houses and are having archaeology diggings carried out. They must be confident of getting Planning Approval this time. I wonder what they know that CDC Councillors do not seem to. Interesting this - Why should Brookworth know more about our Village than we do, or even our Councillors do.
You still have time to email your Councillors before they meet tomorrow to make their final decision . We do not expect a decision in our favour though it will be interesting to hear our Councillors speak. After tomorrow we start again!!!

MAID NEW MESSAGE

The Notes from last week's Meeting are now available on www.mickletonaid.co.uk and can be found under CDC Regulation 19.

The Friday after the Meeting CDC added over 5000 pages of reports and plans to Regulation 19 expecting us and councillors to have read these by the Overview & Scutiny Committee this Monday. Our Chairman asked several questions at this meeting but was stonewalled by the Committee who have passed the Regulation 19 plan onto the Cabinet, then have a full Council Meeting which will pass the plan on 12th August before 'consultation'. MAID are going through the 5000 pages and will be commenting in due course. Our first impression is that they have been hastily compiled and are riven with factual and contradictory errors. Interesting to note that the new surgery in Chipping, often heralded as a benefit for Mickleton, is not scheduled to be built until 2038.

Many thanks to all of you who have written to the CDC councillors, and who have sent us their replies. The main response is 'We are terribly sorry for Mickleton but we had no option". Some, though, are wavering, so keep up the pressure.

This Plan is wrong in every way. Mickleton, Moreton, Driffield and Fairford gave been targeted to take the bulk of these houses. Fortunately Builders will only build if they can sell!
