We ask the government to pause housebuilding targets and consult local communities to identify where substantial house building is needed, not where developers prefer to build. We worry about developers appealing rejected applications and councils and communities often having no funds for a defence.

Today, Mickleton Parish Council received notice from Cotswold District Council that an outline planning application for the demolition of buildings and er****on of up to 170 new dwellings has been submitted by Catesby Estates.

Just to remind everybody that the deadline for comments on the Newlands Homes proposal for houses off Broadway Road is Thursday of this week. It would be good to see lots of comments (either for or against the proposals) from village residents.

Mickleton Against Inappropriate Development(MAID) Residents Survey
MAID have had a strong response to a request for villagers to share their thoughts about village expansion via a survey. To boost numbers even higher volunteers from MAID will be making doorstep calls over the coming weeks to ensure we present the most credible and accurate view from villagers in our Regulation 18 response. The survey can be completed online at mickletonaid.co.uk, or households can elect to complete a paper-based survey that will be collected and entered on resident’s behalf.
If you would be willing to help with some of these doorstep activities please just pop a note into the MAID mailbox [email protected].

YOUR HELP NEEDED – Comment on Housing Development Application
Cotswold District Council have now posted details of the Outline Planning application for the Development of 60 homes by Northern Trust at Foxwold House off Broad Marston Road.
Your comments make a difference. Please submit them before 16th October 2025.
To make a comment, enter 'Cotswold District Council Planning Applications' on your phone/computer, then 'Search for a Planning Application'. The reference you insert is 25/02213/OUT. You can then add your comments.
If you do not have Computer Access and would like to put your comments about the Application on the Council website, you can visit King George’s Hall on Saturday, 11th October, between 1:30pm and 4:30pm. Members of MAID will be available to help you.
