Handyman/Maintenance worker for Private Landlord
Full time position after 3 months probation.
37.5 hrs per week
Mon -Fri 9.00am - 5.00pm
£11.44 per hour
20 days holiday + bank holidays
Must have clean driving licence as will be driving works vehicle
Must have own basic tool kit.
Job Brief
We are looking for a skilled handyman/maintenance worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional.
Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge.
Job Description
You will be required to do maintenance on our 7 buildings located Ashington, Newbiggin, Stakeford, Gosforth, Gateshead & Jarrow
You must be competent in the following skills.
1. Basic plumbing i:e changing taps/sinks/radiators/showers
2. Basic electrical work i:e broken socket fronts/connecting cooker & hobs
3. Basic carpentry i:e You will be required to fit doors/kitchen units
4. Be competent in painting & decorating, plastering & tiling
5. You will be also required to fit carpets & lino on vacated flats
6. You will also be required to maintain the gardens at the buildings, so must be able to use lawn mowers and various other petrol equipment
You must have good communication skills as you will be dealing with tenants on a one to one basis. Then reporting back to Management with any issues.
You will also be required at times to attend out of hours emergency call outs.
