Our outdoor kitchen is taking shape! 🧱🍲 This space will help us provide food for people using the LittleWood Creek training room. We hope to welcome adults for skills training, as well as run clubs and activities for children and adults from the local village. And when we have the resources, we’ll be able to cook and share meals with the community too. ❤️ It’s lovely to see another part of the shelter coming together. Thank you to everyone helping us build it 🫶

Mtomondoni Primary School is local to our shelter. The children loved receiving the letters and pictures from the children at Kiddicaru Nursery in Bristol.

They’ve written letters back, drawn pictures and made paintings. They’re also sending photos to show you how they make things. They look forward to hearing from you again soon! 🥰

A huge thank you to Angie for sending over these beautiful painted pictures from the children at Kiddicaru Nursery in Bristol. 💚🎨

The children at Mtomondoni Primary School absolutely loved receiving them! It was so lovely to see the excitement as they looked at all the colourful pictures made especially for them.

Now it’s their turn! They’re going to get creative and make some beautiful pictures to send back to the children in Bristol next week. 🥰

A lovely little exchange between children thousands of miles apart — showing that kindness and friendship really can travel anywhere. 🌍❤️

🌿 Courtyard Update 🌿

We’ve had a LOT of rain during this trip, which has definitely put a bit of a spanner in the works and delayed our plans to have the courtyard finished when we’d hoped.

But it’s coming together! 🙌

The concrete is almost there and once that’s finished we can get some painting done and really start to see the courtyard come to life. 🥰

Slowly but surely, we’re getting there! 💚
