We’ve been very busy this first week back…. We’ve attended some health and safety courses to make sure we not only keep ourselves safe, but our customers too.

Manual handling.
Fire safety.
Chemical safety.
Asbestos awareness.

You might be thinking surely some of these don’t apply to a double glazing company but all of the above are in practice during everyday work for us.

None of these courses are mandatory, but we want you to feel safe when we are working in your property. So if you see this post be assured we take our job very seriously and we are keeping up to date with all health and safety legislation.

Here are a few tips that I learned that I can pass on to help keep you guys safe too.

Manual handling,
Always bend your knees to lift. Never arch your back when lifting.

Fire safety,
Shut all doors to the kitchen/lounge at night, this can give up to ten minutes extra time to get out in case of emergency by holding back flames and smoke.

Chemical safety,
Store all bleaches and chemicals high up in a cupboard so young children and babies can’t get to them easily.
