Welcome to The Old Police Station Conwy.
The Old Police Station Conwy is the subject of a planning application which, if approved, will see this impressive building redeveloped as a 19-bedroom apart-hotel.
The restoration plan details the construction of a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly apart-hotel, providing visitors to Conwy with a central base from which to explore the town, and the surrounding North Wales area.
This project creates year-round jobs for the people of Conwy, ongoing commercial opportunities for local contractors, as well as attracting more tourists from all over the world.
The façade of the Grade II listed police station – built in the 1860s - remains unchanged.
The apart-hotel would replace existing office and storage facilities more-recently built behind the main building, which finally closed its doors to the public in May, 2022.
This redevelopment initiative – currently being considered by Conwy Borough Council – is the brainchild of brothers Alun and Andrew Jones, both born and bred in the county.
The brothers, who have family ties locally stretching back over five generations, currently own properties and businesses within the Town Walls.
They understand how the redevelopment of The Old Police Station could complement potential improvements to other character buildings and amenities in Conwy.
The planning application includes proposed changes of use on the ground floor to either a retail or catering outlet – essential to the commercial success of the venture, and the long-term maintenance and upkeep of the property.
During the redevelopment, every effort will be made to mitigate the impact of the work of the contractors.
The Jones brothers are committed to providing the people of Conwy with regular updates on this proposed project.
Ultimately, The Old Police Station Conwy returns to its former glory as an historic building the town can be proud of.
