🏠 A New Requirement for Landlords Is on the Horizon
The private rented sector is entering another important stage of change, and landlords in England will soon need to take action.
From December 2026, the Government’s new Landlord Database will begin its phased rollout across England. The register is being introduced as part of Phase Two of the Renters’ Rights Act, with the aim of creating a central record of privately rented properties and their landlords.
For landlords, this means there is more to consider than simply meeting the new registration requirement. It’s a good opportunity to review your property records, licensing status and required safety documentation so you’re prepared when registration opens in your area.
The rollout will happen region by region, so your deadline will depend on where your property is located.
