I would just like to say a big thank you to Darren from DH Gas Services for replacing a problematic boiler in one of our houses. From start to finish it was a great experience and the price was a very nice surprise. Darren was extremely professional and very well organised. If you’re having any issues with your boiler or plumbing related issues give Darren a call on 07383 568886

- Although an annual price cap of £2,500 has been announced for two years, this is still a significant increase on last winter.

- A gas boiler has the biggest impact on bills and buyers may look to reduce costs by choosing well-insulated homes and those which use renewable energy sources or energy-efficient boilers.

- How we select and use our appliances will also have an effect, with gas hobs using less energy than electric. Full loads in dishwashers and washing machines will trim costs.

- Smart meters are a great way for raising awareness of usage.

It’s been a really long and arduous day. Getting ready for the sale of our last project we only had the garden to landscape. After doing the fences ourselves it seemed obvious to do the final landscaping too. With Paul at home sick I enlisted the help of Sue Siberry and local gardener Terry Yale. We shifted tons of topsoil and laid almost 100 square meters of turf. I am so happy with the result. I am sure the new owners will be very happy with their new garden.

Well we had an interesting day working in 28 degree heat. We resurfaced the rear yard and the front path. This now compliments the double driveway we finished last week. The only thing we have left to do is 100 square meters of turf to lay but not in this heat.

What a week. After failing to find a company prepared to take on this beast of a garden we decided on a plan to do it ourselves. Hired a mini digger and a post hole auger and we have levelled the garden, disposed of the weeds, erected 35mm meters of fencing and laid the first layer of hardcore on the new double driveway. Finally ready for my weeks holiday tomorrow. Happy it’s done lol
