Silverford Mill House - It’s been a few years since this one was finished but it was always a fan favourite with its barn style design and traditional lean to mirroring the existing barn and first floor balcony pizza oven, built into a 150 year old industrial chimney. Seemed a shame not to get the drone out to see how it has settled

We are delighted to be involved in the restoration of 38 Church Place, an important historic building in the heart of Lurgan with a history dating back to the early 1800s.

Originally built as a two-storey property before being extended in c.1870/71 to become ‘The Commercial Hotel’, the building later operated as a public house, most recently known as ‘The Manhattan’. Following extensive fire damage in 2014, the building has remained derelict ever since.

Thanks to significant grant funding secured through the Lurgan Townscape Heritage Scheme, this £900k project will see the building carefully restored to shell stage, including reinstatement of the roof, floors, windows and doors, alongside a new rear extension incorporating a lift and stairwell.

Once completed, the building will provide a new retail unit at ground floor level with two apartments above, bringing this prominent town centre property back into use once again.

Works commenced on site in January 2026 and are due to complete later this year. We look forward to seeing this landmark building brought back to life.

Another beautiful day for a site visit!

Great progress being made at our Victoria Street project in Lurgan — plenty happening over the next few months.

Proposed renovation and extension to a lovely traditional home in Portadown. The design looks to reinstate windows in keeping with the original Arts & Crafts character, paired with a contemporary Art Deco–inspired extension. A continuous brick wrap ties the new and existing elements together, creating a cohesive rear elevation. Hoping to break ground before the end of summer, with completion targeted for early 2017.

From derelict to reborn 🏗️✨

38 Church Place has lived a few lives…
Built in the early 1800s as a modest two-storey building, it was transformed in the 1870s into The Commercial Hotel—a busy hub of the town. Over the decades it evolved again and again, from hotel to a series of well-known bars, each leaving its mark on the streetscape.

Then in 2014, a devastating fire left it roofless, hollowed out, and abandoned.

Fast forward to now—this landmark is getting a second chance. With a full restoration underway, the building is being carefully brought back to life:
• Historic façade, windows & shopfront reinstated
• New roof, floors & structure rebuilt
• A refined 3-storey rear extension added
• Future use: retail at ground + residential above

This isn’t just a renovation—it’s about stitching history back into the street and giving the town centre the presence it deserves again.

Big credit to everyone backing the project and seeing the potential where others saw ruin.
