My bribe on long walks when the children were little was either an ice cream or a hot chocolate. Even aged 9, 13 and 15 this still works. We often walk to Cromer from Overstrand or West Runton and as long as I can get coffee from and they can get their ice cream then we are all happy!

Try these for deliciousness...Windows Ice cream, Cromer Ices or Harris and James. Our favourite is on the Promenade to the right of North Sea Coffee (if facing the sea) but I’m not sure of its name!

Rather a lovely quote for another beautiful day.

“I have lived in Norfolk all my life. It inspires me, the sea, the limitless skies, the mud and the burning sunsets and the freedom of a place where more than 50% of the neighbours are fish. ' 'People are proud of it, they like it, and it is a county in which one feels at home.” Raffaella Barker, author

Back to doors again. How lovely is this one - and with matching windows too. Spotted on social media but I forgot to note who by. It’s just gorgeous.

I wonder if this would work with our grey windows?

Fishing off the coast 🐟🐠🎣

For the last thirty years, Cromer has been well established fishing town. There are only about 12 boats left, which take lobster, herring and cod depending on the season. There were once 150 crabbing boats in Cromer.

Fishing on the end of Cromer pier is also very popular because fisherman can get their lines out further than if they fish from the beach. Mackerel and bass are usually the main catches.

The earliest record comes from "A Guide about Cromer" published in 1800 by Edmond Burtell who states "Lobster, crabs, whiting and cod-fish and herring are all caught in the finest perfection".

August is a month which traditionally experiences a dip in asking prices by as much as 0.3%. To beat the inevitable dip then now is a brilliant time to sell with 31 days being the average number of days to sell a property.

Tucker Street was mentioned in the EDP (local paper) in September last year as the prettiest road in Cromer for its colourful houses and the stunning views of the beach and pier at the end. This is a rather beautiful painting I have discovered by Camilla Dowse (google her - she's amazing) http://www.camilladowse.co.uk/

Interesting fact; properties in Tucker Street had an overall average price of £365,000 over the last year, with sold prices 51% up on the previous year and 31% up on the 2019 peak of £278,750.
