An overseas survey for the Output Precision team this week. We took our Leica BLK360 G2 to capture a series of plant rooms. It’s a small, compact scanner that’s easy to travel with and great for a quick survey in spaces packed with equipment and pipework. When it behaves, it gives us excellent results too!

A few photos from the journey and on site. Next, we’ll bring the scans together into a point cloud for the project team to use.

It’s been a very busy and productive week at Output Precision, with plenty of client meetings, project discussions and time spent catching up as a team.
It was great to speak with our clients, discuss upcoming work and make plans for the weeks ahead. With several new projects starting soon, we’re entering another busy period but the team is ready and looking forward to the challenges ahead.

Not every project needs the same surveying approach.
Depending on the building, required accuracy and final deliverables, we may use terrestrial laser scanners, mobile scanning, a total station—or a combination of methods.

Before starting any survey, we consider:
• the size and complexity of the site
• access restrictions and occupied areas
• the required level of accuracy
• the intended use of the data
• the most suitable final deliverables

Choosing the right method at the beginning helps us capture reliable information efficiently and produce point clouds, drawings and Revit models that are suitable for the client’s requirements.
Every good model starts with good survey data.

When you’re modelling an ornate building in Revit and trying to keep the decorative features simple… but then you zoom out and realise you’ve accidentally created a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle! 😂🐢🥷
The circular ornament became the head, the scrollwork became the shell/body, and now we can’t unsee it!
Reducing the level of detail doesn’t always go quite as planned… but at least this model now has its own character! 😂

New UK Office – Warrington!

We’re delighted to let our clients, partners and connections know that Output Precision has officially relocated our UK office to Birchwood Park, Warrington.

Birchwood Park is home to many engineering, construction and technology businesses, making it an ideal location for us. Being surrounded by like-minded companies creates new opportunities to collaborate, build relationships and support both existing and future clients.

Our plans changed slightly along the way, but sometimes you just have to adapt and keep moving forward.

Life at Output Precision isn't just about scanning, modelling and delivering projects.
Over the past few months, we've also been out meeting clients, catching up with industry partners, attending exhibitions, and making new connections.
While technology is a huge part of what we do, we believe the best relationships are still built through face-to-face conversations. Every meeting gives us the opportunity to better understand our clients' needs, exchange ideas, and learn about the latest developments across the industry.
It's been a busy few months, and we're grateful to everyone who has taken the time to meet with us.
