Just been busy living and it feels so good. So ease me in gently guys 😅. What have I missed?

17/01/2026 The day we quietly moved in to our long awaited dream.

You may be thinking this is a far cry from my last post of peeling the paint off the front door, and you’re not wrong. I’m as shocked as you are!

But for the past month I decided to lock in and hustle hustle hustle on getting this house move in ready. That meant abandoning my socials, my family, and friends to spend everyday here inching closer and closer to finally get to this day!

We’re really happy. And tired 😅

I can’t wait to share what’s been going on with you soon, but today we rest… and potter around the house in a bit of a daze 🤭❤️

In my defence, it was a pretty long list. About 12 lists actually.
I’m now working through my PHASE 2 lists. It’s all very exciting and exhausting 🤪.

Promised myself I wouldn’t die with this unfinished.
And so here we are. Giving peelaway 1, one more try.

Do I think it’s a fantastic product? Yes.
Will I use it again? Yes.
Is my hallway archway cursed? Also yes.

See when I use this product on any other wood surface it does a much better job. But as I’ve said here before - this archway in the hall has some kind of unidentifiable lacquer or hide glue resin type layer on it that is impenetrable.

After chemical peeling the first time it left me with a patchy mess which made me regret doing it in the first place. Repeated attempts didn’t help this. The speedheater Cobra does melt it down and make it sticky enough to scrape off, but oh my gosh, it’s a lot of work.

However, despite the many obstacles in my way I’m not giving up with this archway. It may take me months to restore it back to its former glory. (because atm I have important things to do in the house, so I’ll get back to it when I can😅.)

But mark my words: before I die, this archway will be done.

Renovations don’t just cost money and time - they quietly take little pieces of your everyday life, too

If I’d known how many things I’d accidentally sign away when I started renovating… I might’ve thought twice.
(Spoiler: I wouldn’t have. But I might’ve stretched first.)

Here’s to everyone sacrificing their diet, sanity, body, and car cleanliness in the name of “a bit of character.”
You’re doing great. Even if your boot looks like a skip… Mine does too 🙂.
