Sitting quietly in the sun yesterday when this wee field vole appeared from under the decking right at my feet. I spent an hour watching it dart back and forward scooping up bird food and taking it back to her babies.
Stillness and patience are often rewarded with some magical wildlife encounters... also good for the soul 😍

Came across this wee beauty today. Although snake-like in appearance they are actually worms and completely harmless .
They cleverly detach their tails when caught to allow escape from predators and then grow them back.
