Part time secretary / personal assistant required to take over role due to retirement. Answering telephone, taking messages, giving basic quotes over the telephone and following up in writing; arranging and managing our senior partners' diary and appointments, audio typing of letters, reports including building condition surveys, RICS homebuyers reports (on line proforma), schedule of condition and dilapidations. Good working experience of audio transcribing, emails, MS word and excel is required. Preparing invoices and entering into ledger. Making up files. Pro rata salary circa £22,500. 5 hours per day. (Sorry not 4 hours as previously advertised)

Harrison and Johnson have made a new appointment to head their Conservation and Heritage Department dealing with Historic and Listed Buildings.

Alan W Scott, Dip.B.S., Dip.Bldg.Con (RICS) qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1980 and has worked extensively in both public and private sectors.

In 1993 he was the first person in the North of England to be awarded the RICS Building Conservation Diploma and throughout his career has worked extensively with Historic and Listed buildings.

He has lectured in Building Surveying at one of the north’s leading universities. During that time he has published several academic papers on a variety of subjects ranging from traditional roofing to Quinquennial Surveys of Churches.

In recent years he has surveyed a variety of historic buildings including castles, churches and historic mansions.

He has now joined the dynamic and progressive RICS Chartered Building Surveyors , Harrison & Johnson as a Consultant and is available for survey work on historic buildings, planning and Listed building advice and expert witness work within the heritage sector.
