History, craftsmanship and good storytelling have always gone hand in hand.

Today, we were lucky enough to spend the day at Dartington Hall for the filming of the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow. Against the backdrop of one of Devon’s most historic estates, experts and collectors gathered to uncover the stories behind much-loved objects, heirlooms and forgotten treasures.

It’s something that resonates deeply with us at The Devon House. We’ve always been drawn to homes with character and a sense of place, and many of the antiques and vintage pieces we use when styling our properties are chosen for exactly that reason. They add depth, texture and a connection to the past that can’t be replicated.

A beautiful home is never just about bricks and mortar. It’s about the stories it holds and the details that give it soul.
