One of our absolute favourite places to eat has to be The Seahorse Restaurant in Dartmouth

Everything about it feels special, from the warm, buzzing atmosphere overlooking the water to some of the best seafood and Italian-inspired dishes we’ve ever eaten. The menu changes daily depending on what’s landed locally, and every plate somehow manages to feel both beautifully simple and unforgettable.

And before dinner, cocktails in Joe's Bar are an absolute must 🍸✨ Such a cosy little spot and the perfect start or end to the evening.

Tucked right by the water in Dartmouth, The Crafty Mussel is one of those spots you’ll keep coming back to.

Their mussels are the star of the show – fresh, flavour-packed and served in the most delicious sauces (you’ll want extra bread to soak up every last bit!). Pair that with a locally crafted cider and you’ve got the perfect laid-back Devon dining experience.

There’s something about sitting by the water, tucking into incredible seafood and watching the boats drift by that just feels like holiday mode at its best.

We walked along Slapton Line and into Torcross today and the devastation from the recent storms is unbelievable. Huge sections of the road have been washed away — seeing it in person really brings home the scale of it.

We really feel for the local community who now have to drive a long way around just to get anywhere. It’s such a vital route and the impact is huge. Thinking of everyone affected 💛

A winter wander at Blackpool Sands 🤍

There’s something so special about this beautiful stretch of coastline — crisp sea air, peaceful walks along the shoreline, and those stunning views across the bay. Even in winter it feels magical.

After a long beach walk, warming up in Blackpool Sands Café and restaurant with the most delicious hot chocolates and tasty food is the perfect treat. Cosy, comforting and exactly what you need after being out in the fresh air. And even better — there’s live music every Saturday morning from 10–12, which makes it such a lovely atmosphere to sit back and relax.

Winter beach walks are definitely one of our favourite things to do

We had such a lovely day trip over to Torquay and decided to try something a little different by visiting Kent’s Cavern Caves.

The caves were absolutely fascinating — so much history and it was amazing learning about what’s been discovered deep underground over the years. The natural structures and formations are beautiful and really make you stop and take it all in.

Our tour guide was brilliant too — so engaging and captivating, really bringing the stories and history of the caves to life.

It’s a fantastic family day out and such an easy trip from Dartmouth — definitely one we’d recommend if you’re exploring Devon with kids.
