🕺Chris Birds to Take the Stage for Derbyshire “Unstrictly Dancing” Charity Event🕺
On 27 June 2026, one of our Partners, Chris Birds, will be swapping the usual day-to-day routine for something significantly more challenging… dancing in front of a live audience at Derbyshire Unstrictly Dancing.
After several weeks of training with professional dancers, Chris will take to the stage—proving that determination, enthusiasm and a healthy sense of humour can sometimes go further than natural rhythm. The performance will be part of a lively community event bringing together local people for an evening of entertainment and fundraising across Derbyshire.
This isn’t a competition for perfection (fortunately for everyone involved). It’s about stepping outside comfort zones, trying something new, and embracing the fact that not everyone is born with “Strictly Come Dancing” level coordination.
The event supports a range of important local causes, including The Living Recovery Foundation, alongside other community projects that provide vital services for health, wellbeing, and recovery across the region.
Chris is taking part with a simple goal in mind: survive the choreography, remember the steps, and hopefully not accidentally invent a brand-new dance move in the process. More importantly, it’s about raising awareness and funds for charities that make a genuine difference in people’s lives.
Fundraising from the event will go directly towards supporting these organisations and the essential work they carry out throughout Derbyshire. Every donation helps ensure they can continue delivering services to individuals and families who rely on them.
Supporters who would like to back Chris (and potentially witness a few questionable dance moves along the way) can do so via the sponsorship page below:

Every contribution, big or small, will go directly to supporting these important local causes.
Derbyshire Unstrictly Dancing continues to prove that you don’t need perfect timing or fancy footwork to make a difference—just a bit of courage, a lot of community spirit and in Chris’s case… possibly a very understanding.
