This is what community living is all about ❤️

Hearing the music, singing and laughter coming from our lounge this afternoon was just delightful. A bit of karaoke, plenty of laughs and, most importantly, residents coming together and enjoying each other’s company.

One of the things I love about Poppy Meadows is how welcoming our community is. Whether you want to join in with the singing, have a cuppa and a chat, or simply sit back and enjoy the atmosphere, everyone is welcome.

It’s lovely to see friendships being made, people coming together and our communal spaces being enjoyed just as they should be.

There really is never a dull moment at Poppy Meadows! 🎤

What a lovely morning at Poppy Meadows! ☕🥐

This morning we decided to do something a little special for our residents and bring everyone together for a Residents’ Brunch Morning.

There was plenty to choose from, including croissants, fresh fruit and yoghurt, cereals, waffles, pancakes and toast, along with lots of tea, coffee and juice.

It was a huge success and so lovely to see the room full of residents chatting, laughing and enjoying each other’s company.
We even had one cheeky resident add “Can I have a pint of beer please?” to their breakfast order! 😂🍺

Sometimes it’s the simplest things that make the loveliest memories. Thank you to everyone who joined us, we thoroughly enjoyed looking after you all this morning.

I think we may have to do this one again!

Meet Bill, one of Poppy Meadows’ wonderful characters!

Since moving to Poppy Meadows, it’s been so lovely to see Bill really become part of our community. Having previously experienced loneliness, being able to come along to our events, coffee mornings and activities has made such a difference.

Bill is a big fan of bingo, loves joining in with the banter and you can always count on him for a good old sing-song! With his brilliant wit and cheeky sense of humour, he certainly keeps us smiling.

Being able to get out of his flat, spend time with others and join in with everything going on has given Bill something to look forward to and, most importantly, helped him feel part of a community again.

And judging by these photos from our Wild West party, I think it’s safe to say Bill embraced the cowboy theme rather well! 🤠

This is exactly what we want to achieve as a team at Poppy Meadows, helping people feel less alone, encouraging friendships and creating opportunities to come together, have a laugh and simply enjoy each other’s company.

🎨 Crafting, chatting and plenty of smiles at Poppy Meadows!

Our lovely crafting ladies enjoyed making use of the café space for their latest get-together, getting creative and enjoying each other’s company.

And if you’ve been missing having the café open, don’t worry, it won’t be long! ☕️🍰

We’re really looking forward to welcoming a new business to Poppy Meadows and seeing the café buzzing again with residents, friends and the local community.

🤠🌵 YEE-HAW! What a fantastic Wild West Summer Party at Poppy Meadows! 🌵🤠

What an absolutely brilliant afternoon we had for our Residents’ Wild West Summer Party! The lounge was transformed into our very own Wild West saloon, and everyone certainly got into the spirit with cowboy hats, boots and plenty of smiles! 🤠🐴

A huge thank you to the fabulous Crystal Steps Line Dancers, who treated us to some fantastic demonstrations and soon had everyone enjoying the music and joining in. 💃🕺

We were also entertained by the wonderful Bob, our local entertainer, who kept the party going with lots of music, singing, dancing and laughter. 🎶❤️

Seeing so many residents together, having fun, dancing and simply enjoying themselves is what these afternoons are all about. The atmosphere was absolutely brilliant from start to finish.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the afternoon so special, what a party! 🤠🌵🐴

🌸 It’s been a busy few weeks at Poppy Meadows! 🌸

Residents have certainly been keeping busy and having lots of fun.

The monthly baking session with Lindsey was a real treat, with residents getting stuck in and making some rather delicious cheesecakes, and, of course, enjoying the all-important taste test afterwards! 🍰😋

This morning, residents made the most of the lovely roof terrace with an arts and crafts session. 🎨🌺 What a wonderful space to sit together, have a natter and get creative.

We’re so lucky at Poppy Meadows to have such a great variety of activities, from weekly bingo and monthly quiz afternoons to baking, crafts, coffee mornings and so much more.

It’s lovely to see residents coming together, enjoying themselves and making the most of everything going on. There’s never a dull moment at Poppy! 💕🌸

From the photos, it looks like there was plenty of excitement, smiles and a bit of ingenuity when it came to getting a good view! 😊

It’s moments like these that really show what community is all about coming together, sharing an experience and making memories with neighbours and friends.
