We were delighted to welcome the Dingwall 800 Pop-Up Run Club on Wednesday, showcasing highlights from our collection. It was a wonderful day of local community spirit, with visitors dressing up, exploring the museum, and children enjoying our teddy bear trail. Thank you to all who came along! 💙

It's World Cup Season! ⚽ 🏆 Did you know Dingwall has a long and strong connection to the beautiful game? We hold many football related items in our collection, and today we're sharing a photograph of the team of Dingwall Victoria United, 1899/1900, known locally as the Dingwall Vics. In 1929, the Vics would gain membership to the Highland Football League membership, and subsequently rename themselves Ross County! 🦌⚽

Happy Throwback Thursday! Did you know there was a royal wedding held in Dingwall?

In September 1909, Prince Miguel, Duke de Viseu of the House of Braganza married wealthy American heiress Anita Stewart at St. Lawrence's Roman Catholic Church in Dingwall. In this postcard, crowds are gathered, likely hoping to get a look at the couple on their way up to the reception at Tulloch Castle!

Double Event Alert!!🚨⚠️📢‼️

Dingwall Museum has organised two super exciting events being held in Dingwall and Evanton!

We are holding two seperate events over the next few days where we are bringing along some items from our collection that relate to Dingwall and Evanton, with a special exhibition on local schools and schooling. Attendees are invited to come along, get up close with a selection of artefacts, and help us learn more about them. We are always so grateful for your help, ideas, and local knowledge.

We would also love for you to bring along any items or old photographs related to Dingwall or Evanton to share with attendees and museum staff. Together, we may even uncover a few mysteries! This is a great opportunity to exchange stories, showcase your local knowledge, and enjoy a bit of fun together!

For Dingwall:
Saturday 6th June 10am-1pm at the Dingwall Library at Dingwall Academy

For Evanton:
Tuesday 9th June 7pm-9pm at the Cornerstone Cafe, Evanton

Dingwall residents are being invited to help solve a local mystery surrounding the lost artwork of a teacher, artist and women's suffrage campaigner who left a lasting mark on the town more than a century ago.
