Happy Monday everyone! This morning, we have a photograph dated August 1914, at the very beginning of the First World War. It shows the 4th Seaforth Highlanders, our area's local battalion, setting off for training down south in England, to then eventually head over the channel to the Western Front. Have you ever seen Dingwall train station this busy?

Happy Monday everyone! We hope you’ve had a great start to the week. By now, many of you will have enjoyed your morning cup of tea or coffee - so we thought we’d take a look at Dingwall’s own link to the wider story of hot beverages☕ Dingwall was once home to Rowat’s Tea Factory, which sent produce all over the world. While best known for tea, the factory also produced other goods, including cocoa powder. Our collection holds a beautifully preserved tea caddy, along with a couple of unopened quarter-pound bags of Rowat’s tea! Do you have any memories of Rowat's?🫖

New Exhibition Alert!!!🚨‼️

We have just installed a super exciting exhibition created by the very talented Primary 1’s at Dingwall Primary School! Curated by our volunteer Andrew Newton, the exhibition tells the stories of Dingwall’s very deep prehistoric past - it’s all about fossils! Make sure to come along and take a look at the amazing work the pupils have done. Also, a sneaky cameo from Mr. Hugh Millar from across the firth🫢 Hugh Miller's Birthplace NTS
