This jig templates any distorted frame and uneven floor allowing you to produce the exact shape needed to fit a prefect door.
how it works;
Unfold the jig, lock it in place with the insert provided.
Loosen the heads extendable piece using the T TRACK bolts and extend it to the head of the frame, this will hold the jig in place while you work you way down the jig extending each part to meet the door frame.
once all extendable pieces are locked in place ensuring they are all touching the frame start recording the measurements on each extendable piece, there are 2 sets of measurements of each extendable piece to record that allows the perfect angle to be re-established if recording the measurements for a later date.
the recorded measurements are a tight fit so you must reduce the extendable pieces to create the desired gap around the new door. e.g. a gap of 2mm is required around the door, reduce one side (hinge or latch side) of all extendable pieces by 4mm, this allows for a 2mm gap as the jig has no reduced in size by 4mm. don't forget to allow a gap for the head of 2mm ( or desired gap) as well as a gap for floor covering, you do this by reducing the jigs head extendable piece e.g. 2mm head gap + 15mm floor covering gap, reduce the head measurements by 17mm ( the are 2 measurements on each extendable piece and so each measurements needs reducing by the same amount to maintain the angle of the extendable pieces)
on door frames where the floor is out as well as the frame the jig may look tilted, this does not reflect how the door will look as the door will be aligned with one side of the door frame. please feel free to ask any questions. This jig also comes in a version that isn't foldable at a cheaper price but the delivery charge is too excessive and this product will need collecting (see other listings)
