About IPSL

Impress Property Services Limited is a family run business situated in County Durham. We have an extensive range of commercial and domestic clients within our portfolio, with an excellent reputation amongst our customers. Founded in March 2015, we have grown steadily offering our main services to build, maintain & renovate. We believe ‘Pride in what you do makes a difference’.

The Role:

As a multi skilled tradesperson, you will be expected to carry out all aspects of domestic/commercial building work and property maintenance, and complete all inhouse training requirements, to continue with the continued success of the business. The successful candidate will be required to carry out all tasks to a high standard and complete quality checks, paperwork and digital software entries in line with IPSL policies and guidance procedures.

The Person:

Candidates to demonstrate excellent tradesperson skills, sector knowledge and experience; be motivated to work independently and as part of a team and have a keen eye for detail. Excellent customer service and planning skills, taking pride in your work and the ability to achieve set targets and deadlines are also essential.

Essential:

Full Clean UK Driving licence
Clear enhanced DBS Check
Computer Literate
A good level of fitness
Knowledge of building methods and materials
Be able to diagnose maintenance problems and identify solutions.
Be able to organise and prioritise a varied workload to meet targets.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Able to work at heights.
Awareness of on-site health and safety
Have own hand / battery tools.
Own van desirable; however, not essential. (mileage allowance paid for business use only)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in one or more of the fields listed below.
Experience:

Bricklaying
Plastering
Plumbing
Ground Works
Joinery

Multiskilled Tradesperson Apprentice
Apprenticeship Job Summary:
We’re seeking a highly motivated, dependable, and driven young person who enjoys doing manual labour and considers themselves to be helpful, to work as a multi-trades person apprentice. This person will be a go-getter who is comfortable dealing with power equipment outside. It is necessary to have mobility to and from employment place. Prior building experience is advantageous, but not necessary. This is entry-level employment in which the candidate will have the opportunity to learn everything there is to know about building and property maintenance. This person will work in the area under the guidance of a supervisor. They’ll get hands-on experience within this sector and will gain a level 2 property maintenance (property maintenance operative/institutes for apprenticeships & technical education). They will be required to attend college on a day release basis for a period of 21 months.
Apprenticeship Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Follow the instructions of your group leader in daily tasks, and we want you to move ahead on the worksites.
• Perform trade responsibilities on proactive and planned works as asked to company requirements and quality. Do not simply sit and wait for instructions.
• Work on the residence and other properties in terms of repairs and renovation
• Submit a logbook and other pertinent paperwork for your manager’s approval.
• Work as a team member and utilize materials safely
• Complete health and safety training as needed
• Perform flexibly throughout repair and maintenance services
• Load and unload items as instructed
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues and management to ensure that repair and maintenance services are successful.
Apprenticeship Skills:
• Able to work independently
• Diligent and detail-oriented
• Approachable and comfortable interacting with new members
• Be adaptable in your work activities, place, and hours.
• Make sure your tools are in good operating order. If not, notify the team leader right once so that a replacement or repair can be made.
