Today came with one of the little perks of being part of the fundraising and events team for Friends of Eastbourne Seafront! 😊

Maybe a First Aid course isn’t everyone’s idea of a fun day out, but it’s something we all hope we never need… until we do. So we jumped at the chance to refresh our knowledge with the brilliant Garry Cairns and Joe at The Crown & Anchor, Eastbourne.

It was eye-opening to learn about the latest research, especially the shocking statistic that around 40% of women are less likely to receive CPR than men because bystanders worry about exposing their chest to use a defibrillator. Awareness really can save lives.

A huge thank you to Garry and Joe for making such an informative session engaging, practical and enjoyable. We came away feeling more confident, better prepared, and with plenty of food for thought.

You never know when a little knowledge could make a life-changing difference. ❤️

🍽️ Their last hurrah! 🍽️

Always keen to try somewhere new, we finally visited Kings Restaurant at East Sussex College for the students final event before their Summer break – and what a treat it was!

A packed house enjoyed an incredible four-course tasting menu overseen by Executive Head Chef Hrvoje Loncarevic of The Grand Eastbourne. From the warm welcome by our friend, client and restaurant manager Ollie Zecchin to catching up with another guest, our long-standing client Brian Ashman and seeing former student Mia back in the college kitchen, it was a lovely evening all round.

The standout dishes? The arancini with prawns and mussels and lobster cream sauce was simply outstanding, closely followed by a delicious strawberry and kiwi roulade. 😍

What made the evening even more special was hearing from Lauren Carvalho about why she founded Adam’s Light . While serving exceptional food, Kings Restaurant is also helping to raise money for chosen charities, and it was wonderful to see Adam’s Light presented with a very generous cheque on the night. 👏

If you fancy Grand-style dining without the Grand-style bill, King’s Restaurant is well worth a visit. They’ll be back in October with lunches, dinners and special events. We’ll definitely be returning!
