You can't tell by looking. Nobody can, not even us, and we do this every day. Asbestos cement looks almost identical to ordinary cement sheeting, so the only honest answer is a sample.

Here's how it works: we survey the building panel by panel, take small samples from each suspect material, seal them, and send them to an accredited lab.

Days later, you know exactly what's above your head, and what to do about it.

Most of the time, the answer is simply "manage it, don't touch it."
