We have been quietly working towards a key milestone and yesterday, we are delighted to announce that Planning in Principle Permission, was approved by Fife Council, for the regeneration of St Ninians, supporting nature recovery, community access, learning and long-term local benefit. Our thanks to all who have been involved. We are excited and looking forward to moving to the next stage of design and delivery.

Preparative works to start at St Ninian's this week

The owners of St Ninian's former open-cast mine near Kelty/Kingseat would like to inform local residents and all visitors to the site that soil improvement works will start at the end of this month in preparation for the future planting of trees on a significant area across the site.

Pedestrian access to the site during the works will not be restricted. There will, however, be vehicle deliveries of soil forming material to facilitate the works, and heavy plant and machinery will operate during the working hours of 7.00am – 4:00pm Mon-Fri and 8:00am – 13:00pm on Saturdays. Entrance to the working area will be via the site entrance off the B914.

Vehicle and pedestrian management on site during this work is a priority. Drivers will ensure that all hazard warning beacons and lights are on whilst on site to alert pedestrians and to avoid incidents or accidents during the works.

We ask that all visitors in the vicinity of the works adhere to the signage and designated paths and keep dogs on leads to ensure public safety at all times.
