As 2022 draws to a close it’s the only time I like to look back and reflect on the year gone by.
I usually look at the goals I set myself at the start of year, give myself a wee pat on the back for the ones you achieved and figure out why you didn’t accomplish the others.
It certainly has been a strange old year! Full of ups and downs. 📈📉
I thought I’d share a few things I’ve learnt from 2022 that may help you going into 2023.
1. Only focus on the things you can control. There’s been a lot of movement in the economy and government this year which will have a negative impact on my business. I have no control over these so the only thing I can do is adapt and move forward.
2. When things out with your control do change, make decisions quickly and don’t look back.
3. Realise the true value in good people around you. We all get caught up in life. We slip when it comes to making the effort with the good people around us. I am guilty of this more than others. I’m so caught up in growing my business for the future I lose sight of the present.
4. The importance of prioritising health and fitness. Something I noticed this year which I have always taken for granted. Being fairly young and very active I have never had any major issues. However, being plagued with injuries this year has resulted in me becoming acutely aware that I am fast approaching 40 😱 and now need to make my health & fitness a serious priority.
5. Compound effect really is the eighth wonder of the world. It’s very hard to keep hustling head down arse up all the time and not see the rewards. But, this year I have finally seen some positive change in my life from all the struggle. My businesses have started to grow and I did reward myself & family a little this year 🤩
6. Don’t become complacent. It’s easy to rest on your laurels and take your foot off the gas. This year has shown me things can change quickly so always be on your toes ready to adapt and change direction if need be.
I hope you’ve all had a good 2022 and wish you all the best in 2023 🥳
