Working from home sounds like a pretty good deal, but there are some cons to take into consideration.

You need very good discipline and set a time to start and finish working. There can be less distinction between work and personal life when you work from home, so it's likely you overwork frequently.

Getting up and focusing on work every day when you are in your home environment takes a great deal of self-discipline and motivation. Family, Pets, phone, TV can be an issue to keep you focused.

Working all day without access to coworkers and colleagues can be very isolating and lonely.

Having a workspace at home can use up living space in your home.

It's hard to establish trust and develop relationships with colleagues and clients when you don't have a daily face-to-face connection.

Our town is the closest to Runnymede, the site where King John famously sealed Magna Carta in 1215.

Windsor is less than 15 minutes away by car and easily accessible by train. Offering its own unique tourist attractions such as Windsor Castle and fabulous dining options, it is well worth a visit.

Egham also has a new development on the high street, scheduled to open in 2022. Magna Square will host a four-screen cinema, an improved Budgens store and lots of flats and commercial space on the ground floor.

The Holloway University is one of the most beautiful buildings in the UK and it's just a few minutes drive from Egham.

Here are a few tips to improve your concentration in the workplace.

1) Find a good location to work ✅

The place you work can impact your ability to focus. Try to sit facing potential distractions such as doors, phones, or windows. This way you can take a glance to assess sounds that would otherwise break your focus.

2) Avoid Noise ✅

Getting into a state of concentration usually takes around fifteen minutes or more. If you are getting distracted all the time, you won't be able to focus at all. Schedule a time to have a break and look at your phone or to read your emails. Request that people don’t interrupt you when working on a big project. If you are required to answer calls or emails straight away, schedule your big project for another time.

3) Clarify your objectives ✅

Know what your goals are before you start and you will be able to concentrate on each phase of the project.

4) Set a deadline ✅

A deadline is a great way to keep it simple. If you have a strict deadline, you won't spend time with the non-essential and speed up your working time.

5) Keep yourself healthy ✅

If you don't sleep or eat well, your concentration will suffer. Try to cut out fatty foods, too much caffeine and you will notice the difference. Also, exercising everyday in the morning is a great way to keep you ready and focused for the day.
