Wishing a Happy New Year to all our followers, and sending you every good wish for 2026 – may the year be filled with abundance, ease, and deep, nourishing breaths of fresh coastal air.

It’s been a bit of a journey over the past couple of months, quietly preparing the place for what’s to come. Thank you for your patience while I’ve been less visible.

I’m happy to share that throughout this time the holiday cottage has been joyfully occupied and operating. Alongside that, the neighbouring house will be our family holiday home, and will also be available for bookings — particularly for guests who may wish to book both spaces together.

Hopeman has long been a place close to my heart. Over the years it’s been where I’ve gone to wild swim, paddle board, and simply be by the sea. I’m deeply grateful to now have our own wee spot there.

I very much look forward to welcoming back previous guests and to meeting those anew as the journey continues. My inbox is always open if you’d like to get in touch.

This message is to all our followers and more especially to all our wonderful and loyal guests over the 12 years we’ve been privileged to host you in our little cottage … we have sold up and moved away to be near family. Thank you to each and every one of you for your kind messages in our guest book, the clean and tidy condition you’ve left the cottage and most of all for your custom.
The cottage is now under new management and will continue to be let. Please keep an eye on this page and the website and we hope you will continue to enjoy your holidays in this gem of a village.

⚠️ Smoke warning – Near Forres, Moray ⚠️

More than 25 firefighters and six fire appliances are currently working to tackle an outdoor fire near Forres in Moray, after the alarm was raised at 8.51am on Monday, 30 June.

Due to strong winds, a significant plume of smoke is spreading into nearby residential areas. If you can see smoke, please ensure your windows and doors are closed.

⛔️ Please do not light fires, stoves, or BBQs. Remember to avoid dropping ci******es or litter and always respect fire warnings and local restrictions to help protect Scotland's wild places.
