Hybrid Working – Desk Booking

You get to work and someone who was using your desk has left all their stuff on it and now you have to spend your morning clearing it.

Is this relevant for staff who now attend the office 1 to 2 days a week? Or are you being asked to attend the office more frequently during the week and finding it difficult to locate a desk?

Are clear desk policies standard across most organisations?

As a business do you have a concise and accurate list for touchspace or hot desking areas for your staff?

Has this become more difficult to manage post COVID – 19, with staff working in a hybrid manner as they combine WFH and attending the office during a five day week?

Challenges are continually faced for employees and FM staff as they try to navigate through a hybrid working environment.

What have been your personal experiences?

An interesting example of why dedicated move managers are important for any successful business relocation.

In the new era of hybrid working, how are you finding the combination of working from home and attending your office? Are you finding it a hassle or an actual positive experience?

Is variety good to work from home mainly but attend the office 1 to 2 days a week?

Numerous articles on Linked In and the wider British media portray an employee heavy positive spin, that working from home has changed the office landscape in Britain for the foreseeable future.

What do you value about working in the office? Are these still relevant post COVID-19?

As an employee what do you individually value about working in the office?

This will vary for across all industries, workplaces and staff. Value could also encapsulate a number of important variables; breakout spaces, individual meeting offices/booths, effective business functional IT services, or the views from your current office space?

Value for employees could also the soft FM services provided by your employer i.e. in terms of onsite provision for drink/food/canteen services. The ability to meet a colleague over a coffee for an informal work discussion, has always been a popular activity that will surely continue moving forward.

Since the return to the office post COVID-19 have you found these to be reduced or now non-existent since your return to the office?

From my own recent experiences across a different client base, some clients have reduced their onsite provision of onsite coffee provision/canteen facilities to a minimal or even non-existent level.

Has this been the case in the office/business environment that you work in?
